John and his wife, Judy, live north of Fredericksburg near Enchanted Rock.

 

John works as a financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial in Fredericksburg.

 

He earned a BA from Allegheny College, a MSW from Florida State University and a PhD from the University of Maryland.

 

For 15 years, John worked in the mental health field; in the US Air Force, as a social worker in the hospital at Andrews Air Force Base, and as Executive Director of a Community Mental Center in Mississippi.

 

John has been a financial advisor for the past 35 years. He is a member of: the Hill Country Memorial Hospital Foundation Board, The Planned Giving Advisory Council for the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Fredericksburg United Methodist Church, Fredericksburg Toastmasters and is Past President of the Fredericksburg Morning Rotary Club.

 

John and Judy have four children and three grandchildren.

 

John and Judy joined Fredericksburg Morning Rotary in 2002 at the invitation of Dr Jim Partin. For District 5840 John was the Polio Plus Chair for several years. John and Judy participated in National Immunization Days to give the 2 drops of polio vaccine on three trips to India and two trips to Pakistan. He participates in Reading Rodeo each week at Fredericksburg Elementary School reading to first and second grade students. John has been an Assistant Governor and is a Rotary Leadership Institute Graduate and Facilitator. This year while Judy is District 5840 Governor he helps wherever she needs help.
