This past October The Rotary Club of Boerne, under the leadership of Robert Cisneros and joined by several other Rotary Clubs, proudly presented a check to support the Eye Bank of Aguascalientes in Mexico. The Aguascalientes State Governor, Secretary of Health, Mayor, and other local dignitaries were in attendance.
The Eye Bank performs various procedures including corneal transplants, cataract surgery, and more. In fact, the Eye Bank founded the Mexican Association of Ocular Tissue Banks back in 2014. It's remarkable to know that the Eye Bank has successfully assisted over 26,000 patients, performing 17,000 surgeries, 2,000 laser procedures, 4,500 ultrasounds, 2,200 ophthalmological lens implants, and 5,000 corneal tissues.
