One of our Rotary Club of San Antonio’s oldest members, Melvin Mitchell, passed away at age 94, leaving a 63-year Rotary legacy of service and passing the baton to the next generation. Melvin led his family’s 105 year-old construction business and remained involved his entire life. A World War II vet, Melvin retained a “service above self” attitude for his entire life and set an example of faith and family values for his 16 great-grandchildren to follow.
His beloved son, Lane, and daughter-in-law, Charlotte, along with their daughter and son-in-law, Eric and Molly Schluter continue to hold up the ranks in Rotary for the Mitchell clan. We salute this special Rotary family and celebrate a life well lived in Melvin Mitchell.
