The Boerne High School Interact Club recently performed two community service projects. On Friday afternoon, February 23, the Interact Club assisted the librarians at the Boerne Public Library with counting puzzle pieces for the variety of puzzles children work at the library to make sure that each one was complete.

Once the pieces were accounted for, the puzzles were re-stacked for use by the children. Performing this time consuming duty enabled the librarians to focus on meeting the needs of the children using the library after school. On Saturday afternoon, February 24, the Interactors performed community service at the Boerne Animal Control Facility. This is the first time the Interactors performed community service at this facility.

Previously, the Interactors provided service at the Kendall County Animal Shelter. At this facility, the students washed animal dishes and food trays, folded laundry, cleaned up areas near the animal pens, and played with the animals; primarily the cats. The employees at this facility thanked the students for their support and especially for the amount of time they devoted to this project.

The support offered by the Interact Club enabled the employees to work on other tasks because of the high influx of abandoned animals. Interact President Vanessa Corchado and Interact Vice-President Alyssa Brunott arranged and organized these community service projects. The Boerne High School Interact Club is sponsored by the Boerne Sunrise Rotary Club.
