In the spirit of fellowship and a shared commitment to service, the Rotary Bi-District Conference for District 5840 South Central Texas and District 4110 Mexico emerged as a beacon of collaboration and friendship. Despite facing unprecedented challenges, including the cancellation of the inaugural conference in 2020 due to the global pandemic, the Rotary members persevered, and in a triumphant moment, finally convened to turn their dreams into reality.
The vision behind the Rotary Bi-District Conference was simple yet powerful – to foster fellowship and partnerships in service projects between District 5840 in South Central Texas and District 4110 in Mexico. The cancellation of the first conference in 2020, a setback caused by the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, only fueled the determination of Rotarians on both sides of the border to make their shared dreams a reality.
Finally, on November 18, 2023, Rotarians were able to come together in person in Eagle Pass, breaking through the barriers that had kept them apart for too long. The conference was more than a meeting; it was a celebration of friendship, cultural exchange, and the common values that bind Rotary members worldwide. Rotarians from South Central Texas and Mexico shared stories, experiences, and laughter, reinforcing the idea that Rotary is not just an organization but a global family.
The heart of the conference lay in its commitment to collaborative service projects. Rotarians from both districts put their heads together to identify areas where their combined efforts could make a lasting impact. Whether it was community development, healthcare initiatives, or educational programs, the conference became a platform for translating shared visions into tangible, positive change.
Thank you to Gloria Wilson, D5840 International Service Chair and Jaime Chavez, Foundation Chair for District 4110 Mexico for making this dream come true!
