On October 15 three members from the Rotary Club of Acuna A.C. gave a presentation to the Boerne Sunrise Rotary Club regarding the annual Crayola Project. This marks the 20 year anniversary of this joint program which provides elementary school students with much needed school supplies.
Acuna Club President Juan Jaime Cardenas narrated the presentation in Spanish while it was interpreted into English by Cesar Tamez who is the club’s chair of community projects to the Boerne Club. Jorge de la Cruz, past president, participated in the presentation too.

Juan Jaime Cardenas presented Boerne Sunrise Club President Reg Cully with a plaque commemorating the twenty year relationship signifying the positive educational impact it has had on the children. President Reg thanked President Juan for their symbol of appreciation and spoke about the significance of this program for the children over these many years. He added it’s been a fantastic international relationship.

After the meeting, the trio from Acuna picked up used computer equipment that was donated by Boerne Sunrise Club Rotarians Charlie Wetherbee and Mike Glick. Glick also arranged for used equipment to be donated by DOCUmation in San Antonio. The equipment will be refurbished and given to the schools for student use.
