The start of a new Rotary year is always exciting. We take this time to recognize all the accomplishments for the past year and set forth goals for the next year. Although we change District and Club leaders every year, the focus remains the same - Service Above Self.
I was fortunate to have participated in several Club Officer installations these last few weeks and was truly inspired to hear each Club President’s goals for the coming year. Each club is unique in their traditions and culture but each one takes pride in what they do for their community.

I also had the opportunity to attend a few other District Installations in our neighboring Austin and Houston Districts. I have made some extraordinary friendships in my fellow District Governor classmates in D5870, D5890, and D5910. We decided to have our own District Installation tour to show our support for each other and our Districts. We found that we can learn so much from each other and bring some new fresh ideas to our Districts.

Our District Installation was very special to me, and I was glad to see so many Rotarians there to join the fun. Fellowship across our District is important. Meeting Rotarians from other clubs and celebrating together is part of why we are a Rotary family.

And we can’t forget our 2023-2024 Rotary theme. Rotary International President Gordan McInally gave us a call to action - Create Hope in the World. Together we will find ways to fulfill his goals of bringing Peace and creating Mental Health Awareness. I look forward to serving with each of you on this new Rotary journey for 2023-2024. We will continue to serve our communities and make a difference. But most importantly we will have fun!
