On Saturday, September 21st, Rotary District 5840 commemorated World Peace Day by installing a Peace Pole at the San Antonio Peace Center, located at Northwest Vista Campus of Alamo Community College. This event brought together Rotary members, community leaders, and peace advocates in a shared commitment to promoting peace and unity.
Rotary District Governor Kristen Salazar, San Antonio, said “that installing the peace pole today was more than just a symbol of peace locally. The peace pole installed at the Northwest Vista campus is going to be the start of a compassion corridor that leads from San Antonio down to Monterey, Mexico.”  See the interview.

The Peace Pole, an internationally recognized symbol of the hopes and dreams for peace across the globe, displays the message "May Peace Prevail on Earth" in multiple languages.
