I am honored to be part of an amazing group of motivated Rotarians in District 5840. To be honest, Rotarians in our District inspire and motivate me every day with their generosity and devotion to service. The month of October is going to be great for our District. The Rotary International theme for October is Economic and Community Development.
Rotary Clubs have many fun filled events this month towards Polio eradication around the world. The San Antonio West Rotary Club is having a purple pinky fundraiser event on 24 Oct. You get to color your pinky finger purple once you give a donation towards Polio. Several clubs have Pints for Polo events this month. For example, The Kerrville “Pints for Polio” event is on 22 Oct. The San Antonio Pints for Polio event is on 27 Oct. The Randolph Metrocom Rotary Club has a Pints for Polio event on Oct 27 in Selma Texas. The District Governor Line is also having a “Pie In the face” Polio fund raiser. You can see this event on the District 5840 page or go to https://raise.rotary.org/Dwayne-Hopkins/challenge1. This is your opportunity to see DGN Steve , DGE Monica and I get a pie in the face for Polio eradication. One key date quietly approaching is the District Conference scheduled on 9-11 Nov in Kerrville Texas. This conference will be filled with some great events and inspiring speakers.
