What was your most memorable Rotary service project? Every December for the past twenty years my Club (Boerne Sunrise Rotary Club) with support from The Winston School San Antonio hosts a Christmas party at the Shady Rest Mobile Park in Boerne.  Families are treated to a breakfast, on average 85 children are presented with gifts, and each family is given a smoked turkey dinner.  This event was started by Rotarians Don Jones, Jim Johnstone, and me.
What part of your cultural heritage are you most proud of?  When growing up, my parents often spoke about the importance of education, a strong work ethic, family, giving back to the community, and being honest.  My mother was a first-generation Yugoslavian.  She would share stories about her parents stressing the importance of these traits to her nine siblings. My dad always encouraged us to do our best.

What was the most important professional decision you made? The most important professional decision I made was moving from Dallas to San Antonio to become the headmaster at The Winston School San Antonio.  I took a risk where I served the school on an interim one-year basis that ended up lasting thirty-two years.
