What was your most memorable Rotary service project? My favorite service project happened every year at my club in South Dakota. We bought bicycle helmets for all 2nd graders, and Rotarians custom fitted helmets to tiny heads, also providing assorted decals so kids could customize their helmets, and then did a lesson on bicycle safety. The goal was to reduce traumatic head injuries from bike accidents.
What part of your cultural heritage are you most proud of? My family in Minnesota has remained connected to family in Norway since my great grandparents immigrated to the U.S. 145 years ago. I have been to Norway nine times and will host them in the U.S. again in late June 2024.

What was the most important professional decision you made? My most important professional decision was to take a job in Alaska just before I turned 30. I stayed for 13 years and had professional opportunities and personal adventures I never dreamed possible. It was also where I became a Rotarian.
