The Rotary Club of Fredericksburg has just completed its final addition to the Old Fair Park Play Area.  The newest addition features a fairly conventional “climb/slide” play unit, but also in that same area, includes a zero clearance “Orbit” Merry Go Round that is Inclusive for all.
In the adjacent area, there is a swing structure that features 2 “Inclusive” swings, 2 “Toddler” swings, 2 conventional strap swings, and a “Team Swing”. This shaded area also has two new interactive electronic play areas.  The “SUTU Soccer Wall” is an interactive soccer wall, where players can kick a ball and light up sections of the wall to compete against themselves, their friends, and others around the globe.  The “MEMO” is another interactive game where the kids have to run from one post to the other…..depending on the game they choose.  There is an audio component to the game that tells them what to do.  This is also a game where the players can set up an account, and compete against other players around the world!  Both of the innovative interactive games are manufactured by “YALP” and you can Google the company to watch action videos of these play components.

The play complex at Old Fair Park now includes a Skate park, a two-court covered basketball pavilion, a batting cage and the new play area.  This was all made possible by many generous donations, and the cooperation of the City of Fredericksburg….along with hard work and inspiration by the Rotary Club of Fredericksburg Morning.
