The Rotary Club of Kerrville – Morning honored long-time Rotarian and Morning Rotary charter member, Bob Green, with a tribute for being one of the original founding members of Morning Rotary.
“This honor is long overdue. As a friend and as a mentor, his wisdom and sage counsel have proven invaluable, both to me and to others. He’s the backbone of our club,” said Ray Buck, Morning Rotary president.

Bob shared with those in attendance and via ZOOM that Morning Rotary was chartered in January 1988 under the sponsorship of The Rotary Club of Kerrville (Noon Rotary). He noted that the original membership was comprised of educators, bankers and attorneys who found meeting in the morning more convenient than a noon meeting. Out of the founding group, Bob is the only one who is still an active member of Morning Rotary. Bob’s spouse and Noon Rotarian, Diane Green, attended to honor Bob as well as Noon Rotary president Tammy Prout. Diane is a past-president of Noon Rotary and as the capstone of the celebration, she presented the Morning Rotary Charter Member pin to Bob.

“Time flies when you are participating in an organization that has provided great service to the community. Kerrville Morning Rotary has gone through a number of transitions through the years but has always retained its devotion to helping Kerrville be a better place for all of us,” said Green.
