Randy McClay, Rotary Foundation Chair for the Rotary Club of Kerrville-Morning (Morning Rotary) and Waverly Jones, Treasurer, made a joint presentation to club members on the purpose and function of the Rotary Foundation.

They also announced that three members received Paul Harris recognition. William “Bill” Sharp, Secretary, received his first Paul Harris Fellow award. Nancy Riley, Sergeant-at-Arms, and Ron Hackett each were awarded their Paul Harris Fellow plus three. Paul Harris awards are given to individuals in recognition of contributions to the Rotary Foundation in the amount of $1,000. Each “Plus Award” is in recognition of contributions to the Rotary Foundation for each additional $1,000.

“Contributing to the Rotary Foundation has always been an important part of my contribution to the world.  As a Rotarian, whose motto is ‘Service Above Self,’ I believe that The Rotary Foundation is the epitome of Service Above Self,” said McClay.

Kerrville Morning Rotary is a 100% Paul Harris Fellow Club. Rotary clubs in which all dues-paying members are Paul Harris Fellows can be certified as a 100% Paul Harris Fellow Club and receive a one-time special recognition banner from The Rotary Foundation.

“Our goal for this year is to achieve 100% Paul Harris Fellow status. Morning Rotary achieved this distinction twice before and I think this speaks to the continued commitment of our members in serving others,” said Ray Buck, President.
