Annual Human Trafficking Seminar - Hear Texas Assistant Attorney General Kirsta Leeburg Melton discuss this Rotary International focus.

Assistant Attorney General Kirsta Leeburg Melton leads the Human Trafficking Unit in the Texas Attorney General’s Office. She addresses the problem and some solutions in a presentation at Grace Lutheran Church at 1250 Belvin St, San Marcos, on Tuesday, Nov. 6 from 6-7:30 p.m. Law enforcement personnel in San Marcos and Hays County are expected to attend, as are Rotarians from around the region. Refreshments will be served, and the event is free and open to the public.

Sponsors for the event include the Rotary Club of San Marcos and Rotary District 5840, serving Central Texas. Rotary District Governor Kathy Hubbard said of the event, "We, as Rotarians cannot ignore this issue of human trafficking, in essence human slavery. Let’s meet together and learn the red flags so we can recognize this issue when we see it and do our part to end this horrific crime.”

The Human Trafficking Unit in the Attorney General’s Office has a web site with information and a video about the issue: https://texasattorneygeneral.gov/human-trafficking
