The Rotary Club of San Antonio presents the 2019 Holiday Outdoor Ice Rink located in Travis Park adjacent to the annual Christmas tree. The Rink will open the night of the Christmas tree lighting (Thanksgiving weekend) and continue daily through January 2020.
Destined to become a winter tradition in the Alamo City, more than 25,000 skaters are anticipated to enjoy the rink and the beautiful winter surroundings. Every day of the week there will be special discounts:
 
• Military Appreciation Night | Every Monday
All active duty military men and women free on Mondays from 5-10pm. Military dependents can skate at half price.
• Cheap Skate Night | Select Tuesdays
Skating for just $5 admission/person.
• Date Night | Select Wednesdays
Couples skate with free music from 7-10pm.
• Movie Screenings | Every Thursday
Free holiday and family films at Travis Park. Bring chairs/blanket and find a spot on the lawn or skate while you enjoy the film. The movies are free if you don’t plan to skate. 7pm start time.
• Festival Friday | Select Fridays
Mix and mingle to the latest popular music most Friday nights, 7-9pm.
• Skate with Santa | Select Saturdays
Join Santa Claus for an afternoon skate session.
• Skating with the Stars | Select Sundays
Join professional ice skaters on the rinks on Sunday evenings.
 
"The rink will be made of real ice and be able to hold close to 150 skaters comfortably," says Brandon Logan, President of the Rotary Club of San Antonio. General admission will be $10 and skates rentals will be $4.
 
"We are really going to build around this," Logan said. " We will have Santa there, gingerbread, movie nights, food trucks and hot cocoa."
