If someone looked at me today they would never know me as a young boy and the difficulties. They would never know the difficult times and tears. They would never know a time of grief and sorrow. As a young boy (about 7 years old), I remember getting visits from several people in the Children’s home that I lived in.

The annual Uncommon Table Brunch with Santa was a fun service project. Volunteer story readers from the Beeville Rotary Club and the BISD Interact Club joined with Texian Books to delight the children with stories about Christmas. Breakfast was Crème Brulee French Toast. Yummy! Santa knows that all attending the breakfast are on Santa’s good list.
The Rotary Club of San Antonio is pleased to announce the Rotary Ice Rink presented by Valero will be back bigger and better this season. The Rotary Ice Rink is scheduled for November 18 - January 16, 2023 at Travis Park.
The Beeville Rotary Club partnered with JJP Family Clinic to host a luncheon honoring local veterans on Saturday, November 12th. Several Beeville Rotary Club and Beeville Interact Club members participated by serving food and talking to the veterans and their families. Most of all, our Beeville Rotarians thanked the veterans for their service.
We had a great turnout for our Free Veterans Appreciation Breakfast. We had 120 plus Veterans and 25 Rotarian’s in attendance. A huge thank you to the Hill Country Veterans Center for hosting and to El Sombrero de Jalisco for the yummy tacos. 🌮🇺🇸❤️🤍💙
San Marcos Rotary presented a check for $5,000 to San Marcos School Fuel on November 16. School Fuel provides K-8 students with food to take home on weekends and holidays when school meals are not available.
The District Conference Service Project for Endangered Children sponsored by the D5840 Combat Human Trafficking Rotary Club was led by Amy Barag and JoAnn Browne. Rotarians who attended the 2022 District Conference filled150 backpacks filled with various hygiene products, combs, brushes, quilts, dental products, journals, Walmart gift cards and snacks.
Rotarians from the Fair Oaks Ranch Club, along with their family members, participated in a neighborhood food drive to ensure all families served by the Hill Country Daily Bread Ministry in Boerne were able to enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving meal.
Oak Hills Rotary sponsored the Annual Model United Nations San Antonio (MUNSA) pancake supper held at the International School of the Americas. It was a success! We prepared over 300 dinners for the event. The cooking was done by 8 Rotarians and 20 MUNSA students. The event raised over $1,500 for the MUNSA travel fund.
Pearl Rotarians Rudy Rubio III and Andres Trevino volunteered for 7 hours at ThriveWell Cancer Foundation's annual Healing Hearts Telethon. They accepted incoming phone calls of donors to help reach their goal of $100,000. Rotary Club of Hondo-D'Hanis held their annual Bountiful Blessing on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. Rotarians served hot meals to Veterans and Senior Citizens in the Hondo Community, in addition some Rotarians delivered some meals to home bound seniors. This is a much needed project in our area, and a project our Club looks forward to every year.
Chester W. Nimitz Middle School (NEISD) gets nation’s first Immersive Biophilic ReCharge room for schools. San Antonio North Central Rotary Club has designed and donated the nation’s first immersive biophilic Serenity and ReCharge room to the teachers and staff at North East Independent School District’s Chester W. Nimitz Middle School/STEM Academy.
DG Dwayne Hopkins took the opportunity of his visit to The Rotary Club of Fair Oaks Ranch to present them with their recently announced "Club of the Year" award for 2021-2022. He also honored Past President Greg Maxton for being named "President of the Year" for the same period; along with other club accolades in Service Projects, Membership, Public Image, and Foundation support.
