The Rotary 5840 District Conference on 6 May is fast approaching. Please sign up as soon as possible as seats are limited. Rotary Club of New Braunfels will be hosting the Hill Country Craft Beer Festival 2023 on Saturday, April 15th from 12:00-6:00PM at the Comal County Fairgrounds. Pete Siegel, District 5840 IFSR Coordinator presented the IFSR Eagle Scout Recognition Certificate to Eagle Scout Kurt Krueger at his Court of Honor on February 25, 2023. Kurt is a member of Scouts BSA Troop 90 which is chartered to Abiding Presence Lutheran Church.
This past month members of the Rotary Club of Boerne (Noontime) were once again serving their community. The Rotary motto of “Service Above Self” was exemplified by their picking up of garbage along the banks and in the waters of Cibolo Creek.
The Rotary Club of San Antonio had the great privilege to recognize two members celebrating milestone years of of service. Melvin Mitchell was honored for reaching 60 years of Rotary service. Melvin was joined on stage by his son Lane, daughter-in-law Charlotte and granddaughter Molly who are all Rotarians in our club.
The Rotary Club of San Antonio was honored to host Rotary Day SA at McAllister Park as part of the week of service. We had over 140 volunteers from 13 different Rotary clubs and five Interact clubs. We mulched, painted and picked up tons of trash. What a great expression of Rotary's People of Action! Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's event. We're also grateful for all the kind words of thanks we received from patrons of the park.

Club member Mike Elvir again spearheaded a Highway Beautification Breakfast on Saturday, March 4. Members picked up many bags of trash along our two-mile stretch of Highway 290 West and enjoyed fellowship and breakfast tacos provided by Donna Elmore and the Interact club members from Fredericksburg High School.
A team of Rotarians distributed eggs at the Vineyard (a local Beeville non-profit) to those in need of food assistance in Beeville. Farm Fresh Eggs were purchased by the Beeville Rotary Club from the Amaral Ranch, LLC who generously gave of their time to deliver the eggs to the Rotarian team, assuring safe delivery.
There were smiles everywhere on the kids (little and big) as the Rotary Club of Fair Oaks Ranch assisted with the city's Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Brightly painted eggs and children lit up the park and made for a wonderful spring celebration enjoyed by all, thanks to our dedicated "People of Action"!
The Interact Club of Pleasanton (sponsored by the Rotary Club of Pleasanton) held it's first student-run meeting! This is the first year of the club and it is led by an all-girl Board of Directors. During this school year the club has already hosted three service projects and taught the 40-member club the Four Way Test. They will finish out the school year with two more service projects.
Kerrville Morning Rotary is holding a very unique fundraiser for the benefit of a worthy young lady as proceeds will go toward the purchase of a car, which will allow her to get to work and to school. She is an overcomer and high achiever and we are excited to help her with not only the car but with her education as well!
We decided a putting contest would be something novel as there are lots of actual golf events, which are great, however not everyone can swing and hit a golf ball, but everyone can putt! We will hold three separate contests as each event is limited to 27 - 2 person teams. We start with our Co-Ed event, followed by Skilled and finally Open.
