I am so excited to announce the location of the 2023 Rotary District 5840 Conference. The Conference will be at the UTSA Sports Complex in San Antonio on 6 May 2023. Please go to the district page and sign up. This one-day event is designed for everyone in the district and will only cost $50 with lunch. Club leadership training will be provided for President Elect, Secretary, Treasurer, and other key positions. We will also announce the Club of the Year, Rotarian of the Year and other top awards at this event. Clearly, this is an all-attend district event. Come on out, wear your favorite professional football shirt/jersey and have fun. We will start at 9:00 a.m. and be finished by 5:00 p.m.

The Boerne Sunrise Rotary has sponsored a brand new Interact Club at Boerne High School. This enthusiastic group of young scholars is shown here with their faculty advisor, Ashlea Windsor, on their community service project. The Interactors and their advisor cleaned pens at the local Kendall County Animal Shelter. They fed and walked the dogs and learned that “service above self” can also be fun.
Here are Beeville Rotarians with "service above self" smiles. The early Saturday morning clean-up service project also put smiles on the faces of the Beeville residents who were happy to see another road full of paper and plastic cleared of such waste.
While serving as volunteer coaches / mentors, club members have incorporated Rotary's Four Way Test into the First Tee's Life Skills curriculum for residents of a local youth home. Early exposure to Rotary's foundational values has truly been an empowering experience for these young citizens.
Oak Hills Rotarians volunteered at the 28th Annual Basura Bash to clean up of the San Antonio tributaries and waterways. 22.81 tons of trash was collected.

The Rotary Club of Ballinger will be hosting a Pints for Polio fundraiser on March 17th from 5-8pm on 8th Street in Ballinger. Partnering with the City of Ballinger, The Coffee Haus on Main and other local businesses, the Rotary Club of Ballinger will have live music from the Davis Brothers Band, after hours shopping in which many local businesses will donate a percentage of the proceeds to Pints for Polio. So come out, listen to some music, make a donation and drink some green beer!
This past January 21st was The Rotary Club of Boerne's Annual Fundraiser - Casino Night. This well attended event was held at Mark Motors in Boerne and featured Casino games, dinner, many prizes and raffles. Funds raised will go to support local and international non-profits.
The Rotary Club of San Marcos is sponsoring a Scramble 4 Scholarships on Friday, May 12 to fund scholarships for San Marcos area high school seniors. The event will be held at the Double J Ranch Golf Club in Woodcreek, just outside Wimberley. The cost is $150 for individuals or $500 for a team. Beverage, meal, and a title sponsor are being sought. The Fredericksburg Rotary Club held a very successful Cupid's Bow Bash fundraiser on February 13. The sold-out event featured dancing to the music of the Bob Appel Band, a catered dinner, 100-item silent auction and a wine pull. The event raised over $32,000 to benefit our Club's Scholarship, Toys for Tots and Literacy programs.
Rotarians Anne Marie Morgan, Harvie Lindeman and Tracy Barr assisted with set up and serving lunch at the Blanco Middle School Educational Event held February 10. During the event students attended presentations on topics such as healthy eating, substance abuse prevention, mental health awareness, kindness, healthy relationships, and all around health goals.
