DG Monica Gutierrez's Message for May
April started with a service project that included all our D5840 Interactors. While each club contributed to folding 20 cranes for our Cranes for Hope effort, the Interactors were tasked to help string all 1000 cranes. It was so great to see them work together as teams and collaborate with Interactors from other schools.

District Leadership Spotlight - Public Image Team, Bruce Smith
What was your most memorable Rotary service project? My favorite service project happened every year at my club in South Dakota. We bought bicycle helmets for all 2nd graders, and Rotarians custom fitted helmets to tiny heads, also providing assorted decals so kids could customize their helmets, and then did a lesson on bicycle safety. The goal was to reduce traumatic head injuries from bike accidents.

You're invited to attend the Installation Dinner for 2024-2025 District Governor Kristen Salazar on Wednesday, June 26th at the Old San Francisco Steakhouse, 10223 Sahara Dr, San Antonio, TX 78216, USA. The evening will begin at 6PM for cocktails, followed by dinner at 6:30PM. Fabra Early Act Club Beautifies Their School 
The Rotary Club of Boerne  and Boerne Sunrise sponsor the Fabra Elementary Early Act Club under the guidance of Rotarian Naomi Jendrusch. With the help of Kathy Webster, Certified Master Naturalist, approximately twenty Fabra students put native plants in 3 areas at their school this past month.

Winston Interact at Walk for Autism
The Winston School Interact Club was on hand to support the Walk for Autism on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Palo Alto College. The Interactors helped set up the VIP area and later participated in the Walk. The event attracted over 10, 000 participants. The Winston Interact Club has been supporting this Walk for over 12 years.
Funds Raised for Local Mom Group 
Fredericksburg-Nimitz Rotary President Debbi McCurdy (center) presents a check for $2,145 to Linday Closson representing FBG Mopco by MOPS, a local faith-based group for moms. The funds were raised at Texas Heritage Vineyards quarterly Bingo and Vino for a Cause event held in March.

Fredericksburg Clubs Come Together for Tri-Club Mixer
The Rotary Club of Fredericksburg was the host for a Tri-Club "Spring Fling" mixer held on April 3 at the Western Edge restaurant in Fredericksburg. Approximately 120 members and guests from the three Clubs--Rotary Club of Fredericksburg, Rotary Club Fredericksburg Morning and Fredericksburg Rotary Club Nimitz attended the event.

First Responder Luncheon 
The Rotary Club of Kerrville hosted their annual First Responder Luncheon today, presenting members of local fire departments and law enforcement departments with special awards. Thank you to all first responders.

Cranes for Hope Project 
Forty one Interactors and their sponsors responded to the call from the District Governor to string 1,000 origami cranes. At the start of her Rotary year, District Governor Monica challenged every Rotary club to fold 20 cranes as part of her wish to bring mental health awareness to our communities as part of our RI President’s goal for Mental Health.

Environmental Protection in Fair Oaks Ranch 
Fair Oaks Ranch Rotarians helped 237 families dispose of their sensitive documents at the communitywide Shred Day. Every ton of regenerated paper can save 17 trees!
Sock Drive for Families in Need
San Antonio Oaks Hills Rotary Club donated 171 socks towards the combined efforts with District 5840 during P.E.T.S. Club members provided the socks to PE Derek Matthys to help assemble bags for those in need.

Catholic Charities Volunteer of the Year
Mike Canales, member of the San Antonio North Cenral Rotary Club was selected as the Catholic Charities' Volunteer of the Year!
