February 27th through March 4 is Rotary District 5840 Service Project Week. Rotary clubs all around District 5840 can maximize opportunities around service projects in local communities or even combine projects with several clubs. This of course is centered around Rotary Service Project Day at McAllister Park that is sponsored by the San Antonio Rotary Club on 4 March. The Rotary Club of Kenedy, Texas #1908, celebrates their 100th year Feb. 7, 2023, at the Second Street Art Gallery, Kenedy. Guest Speaker, Kristen Salazar, District Governor Nominee, representing District 5840. Also on this day, the City of Kenedy, places a RI road sign the very first displayed on the main highway of 181.
The Rotary Club of San Marcos is hosting a Casino Night fundraiser on Saturday, March 4 at 6 p.m. The event will be held at the Commemorative Air Force Centex Wing, 1841 Airport RdBldg 2249 San Marcos, TX 78666.
The Rotary Club of San Antonio was proud to help the veterans at the Frank M. Tejeda Texas State Veterans Home. The club purchased and packed snack bags after a recent Rotary meeting. The snack packs are used as prizes at the facility's daily bingo game. We paced over 200 bags for our wonderful vets!

A team of dedicated educators at PISD are working to provide assistance with hygiene, clothing and food items to students in need. The Pleasanton Rotary Club is supporting their efforts though financial donations, in-kind donations, and an ongoing relationship with a Club member’s online Ebay clothing store to meet specific needs.
Oak Hills Rotary adopted a family of 4 at Christmas time. Rotarians shopped for various items requested and wrapped the gifts. Thank you to club Secretary, Veronica Ruse and DG Dwayne Hopkins for helping deliver the wonderful cheer to the family.
Fredericksburg High School students visited our Club meeting on January 23 to talk about their wonderful experiences at RYLA and their Interact Club accomplishments. Interact Club activities this school year included raising $350 for Toys for Tots of Gillespie County.

The San Angelo Rotary club, which is 70 member strong, raised over $6300 at their annual Shrimpfest in October. The club disperses the funds to a different nonprofit every year. This year the recipient was House of Faith, a citywide children’s and youth ministry that brings Jesus to the lives of hundreds of youth through after school programs and Bible study. Fredericksburg Rotary Club joined with five other Clubs to construct rainwater catchment tanks, toilets, handwashing facilities, septic tanks and incinerators for sanitary napkins at seven public schools in northwest Tanzania.
